Good MORNING & Happy Monday, dear readers.

Firstly… I am an idiot.

Secondly: thank you to everyone who tried to do the Typeform poll last week. Turns out, you have to pay to get more than 10 responses on your polls.

Yours truly had NO IDEA. If you were one of the first 10, again, thank you. If you didn’t get to see the poll, you can try to check it out again here (though I still haven’t paid for typeform so it might block your ass again):

If you’re curious, the poll is basically around my trying to solve a couple interesting problems in the car realm, and in doing so, expand the scope of the MaxFindsCars portfolio a smidge.

ANYWAYS, you don’t care about polls, you care about cars. And you might be happy to know I saw a LOT of them last week on my lil beach trip.

ONE of these cars is actually for sale. I am currently working on getting in touch with the owner so we can give that particular vehicle its own standalone newsletter, but this one is going to be a bit of a mish-mash covering a few of my favorite cars I saw on my trip.

BUT! This is going to be a team effort… At the end of this newsletter, I am going to put a (working) poll asking you all which of these beach rides we want to learn more about and maybe… buy.

At a minimum, I promise I’ll find one for sale so we can all collectively bid & see what happens.

Anyways… LET’S CHECK OUT SOME SICK BEACH RIDES, SHALL WE?

The SICKEST Beach Rides Max Found

  • Land Rovers GALLORE

  • An Absolutely MONSTROUS UNIMOG

  • A Humbly Cool Wood-Paneled Wagon

Today’s Edition is brought to you by Morning Brew

Land Rovers GALLORE

90s era LR 110 next to a new Rivian R1S. This lineup made me want to know what was in the garage very badly

Classic Land Rover Defenders like the one pictured (left) are an absolute STAPLE in beach towns and it is clear why…

They have a few things well-off beach goers (the ones with good taste, anyways) LOVE.

For one, and this is probably the big one, they just ooze aesthetic appeal. These things are boxy and rugged vintage vehicles with the prestige that comes from the modern Land & Range Rover name.

Driving one is like wearing an old Rolex Submariner, or a vintage pair of Ray Bans - they have that old-school charisma every Brooklyn 20-something is trying to cultivate (author’s note: after typing this I went down a 45 minute rabbit hole looking for cool vintage sunglasses…).

Another very original looking Defender 90 (the 90 referring to its short ~90inch wheelbase)

And, class aside, these Defenders are QUITE capable, touting lots of ground clearance, diff locks, permanent 4-wheel drive, and so on.

I saw a TON of these last week, and one (not pictured… yet) is the one we will hopefully be talking more about in the coming days!

A level of cool Wrangler owners with detachable doors yearn for

An Absolutely MONSTROUS UNIMOG

Sorry for shitty formatting, but apparently I cannot directly share a video file in an email. You’d think we’d have the technology for such things, but instead I must link a damn Tweet (X): https://twitter.com/maxjzin/status/1690884132421685248?s=20

Not THE Unimog, but a similar one.

The ‘Uni’ in the name Unimog literally translates to ‘Universal’ - these monsters were incepted as a ‘do anything’ farm machine.

Now… Idk if you can tell from the video, but this thing was DEFINITELY overkill for a little sand. It’s the equivalent of a middle-schooler getting Mike Tyson to help him beat up his 8th grade bully.

(this picture is iconic idk what anyone says)

Needless to say, this bright orange Unimog turned every head on the beach. As soon as I saw it, I abandoned my cornhole game (before you ask, I played poorly) and sprinted to our truck to get my phone to snag that video.

It was by far the most unique vehicle on the beach last week, and… I would love to find some for sale and write more about these crazy things.

A Humbly Cool Wood-Paneled Wagon

Okay this wasn’t TECHNICALLY on the beach… but still:

THIS dear readers, is a Buick Roadmaster wagon, and I found it awesome that the owner of this (probably $5mil+ home) decided to drive one of these over everything else they can almost certainly afford.

In fact… I saw a handful of wood-paneled classics during my beach week. Another Roadmaster, covered in stickers. An OG Jeep Grand Wagoneer too.

Jeep Wagoneer in all its fishing-facilitating glory

Even though this was, again, not technically a beach-faring vehicle, the Roadmaster is surprisingly capable.

They came with a MASSIVE V8 engine, startlingly high towing capacity, rear-facing third row seats, AND are gaining steam in the aftermarket community.

Yours truly bid on this beauty before buying the 911, in fact:

this baby could handle both the beach and any Mad Max inspired apocalypse with ease

So…

Which of these glorious machines do you want me to talk about next?

And remember…

MaxFindsCars.com is not, technically, free! By subscribing, dear reader, you have agreed to tell your friends about it.

In fact, I believe the contract specifically stated you had to each subscribe 100 of your closest friends, colleagues, enemies, exes, priests, pets, & sugar mommas. I’ll have to check the fine print to be sure, but you all may as well get started spreading the word in the meantime.

That's a wrap for today. New Editions come out every Monday & Friday! While you wait, go out and drive! And if you want more, be sure to follow Max’s Twitter (@maxjzin)

IF YOU’RE FUNNY, MEAN, OR NICE ENOUGH, YOUR REVIEW MIGHT GET FEATURED IN A FUTURE NEWSLETTER…
